The Adoption Blog.

This is an advice/support/story telling blog for people who were adopted, gave a child up for adoption, or just great people who support adoption! It's run by two adopted ladies, Kate, and Pish.
We both found our families and learned our stories. We've had our struggles and we still face them. But we have each other. We want to show you that you aren't alone.

note: we've both been extremely busy and haven't had too much time to dedicate to this blog. we apologize!

maryannax3 answered your question: Question!! What do you think about the high cost of adopting a baby?

I think that it’s a little bit ridiculous but then the people who REALLY want children are the ones that are willing to spend that money

my story

I was born in Romania. I was born very sick and was hospitalized right from birth. My birth mother didn’t have the money to afford the medical bills and everything that came with dealing with a new baby. I was the 4th child to a 32 year old mother.

After spending time in the hospital. I was put in an orphanage for a year of my life or so. I was born on April 30th 1994 and was adopted on May 1st 1995.

My parents always told me about being adopted. They wanted me to understand it and accept it. I think it’s the coolest thing. I couldn’t be more grateful for the life I live today. Especially living in Canada such a beautiful country.

I did have to deal with some people who just couldn’t shut their mouths. The one, my ex boyfriend infact. Rudest person I have ever met. I remember it like it was yesterday. We were in science class of grade 10 (i’m in grade 12 now) He was such a dick before and than this day just made me realize I couldn’t do it. I made a comment which was like ” ohh shut up” as a complete joke. He was such an ass I really didn’t think he’d have a problem with it. That’s when he leaned towards me and said ” at least my parents loved me and didn’t put me up for adoption”. Those words burned inside me. They still do. I am very defensive now about people who ever make a slight comment about adoption. I just don’t find it soemthing to joke about. It’s serious and adopted people take things like that personal. Luckily he’s my ex and now I have someone who loves the fact I’m adopted :).

When I turn 19. I hope to travel back to Romania and meet my birth family. I think it would be an amazing thing to experience. <3

Through being made fun of and such. It’s really taught me that we have to be really thankful for what we have now. We can’t take life for granted. Love the people who love you. I have never once in my life thought of my mom and dad as “adopted” parents. They are my parents and will forever be my parents. <3

Anonymous asked: I was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts to a woman who was not only in medical school, but also already had one child and my father was married and had two kids of his own. So she put me up for adoption. I completely understand. I'm 17 years old now and wrote her a letter a few months back. I have yet to hear a response. I did some creeping through the letter that she wrote me and found my sister on Facebook. I just messaged her. I've never been more scared or happy in my life(:

infinitereality-limitedsanity answered your question: New Question.

i’m not mad at the act of giving me up for adoption, but i’m often angry for the lack of a real reason.

were you ever told there was a reason?
